A desk in an office.

For the past several months, you have been trying to come up with ways by which the productivity of your office can be improved. You’ve tried altering work schedules, putting supplies in different areas of the office, and moving furniture around, but to no avail. Now, you’re thinking about changing some of your furniture, as some of your executive desks are falling apart. You’re thinking that you need to replace this furniture anyway, and that there is always the chance that it could somehow result in improvements. If you’re thinking this way, then you should consider the l shaped computer desk, as this option can give you brand new furniture and better productivity at the same time.

For starters, an l shaped computer desk can fit into corners, making use of the corner space in your office that is probably being occupied by coat racks, plants, or other items that do nothing to make your office more productive. This helps you make better use of some of the available space that is in your office, while freeing up space in the middle of your office, where you can bring in more workers if you’d like, in order to make your office even more productive.

Because of the shape of the l shaped computer desk, you have an enormous amount of desk space for your computer monitor, keyboard, telephone, fax machine, and printer to be kept in one place. No longer will you have to get up and go into the room next door to collect a print or to make a copy. By being able to do these things without having to leave your desk, you are more productive. You also have enough desk space to have a meeting with your employees without having to get up and go to the conference room. You could even have several employees work at the desk at the same time, enhancing communication between them, making them more productive.

If you really want to up the ante, consider an l shaped computer desk with hutch. This option gives you a hutch that allows you take advantage of some of the vertical space in your office, giving you more storage space by which you might be able to get rid of some of the older furniture that is serving the same purpose. The hutch will also allow you to get less frequently used items off of your desk, so that you can find the more important items on your desk and keep your desk clean, making you more efficient.

This article described many of the benefits that come with using an l shaped computer desk, particularly when it comes to improving the productivity in your office. Before you make a final decision, you should definitely consider this option much further.

Catchy Business Name Ideas Can Grow a Product

www.PsPrint.com

When starting a new business, choosing a name to call it is crucial to the success of the venture. Potential customers will know you by this name. And since these customers will likely do business with you for a long time, you need a catchy business name idea to market your product. This unique name is what will catch potential customers’ eyes when they peruse the yellow pages or search online for your product. Hence, finding the right name for your business is very important.

A common way of naming a business is using the initials of the business owner or owners. Though this may sound practical, it is actually a not very good idea since the name is likely to be forgettable and will say nothing about you or your home based business ideas. For your new business to succeed and to immediately get off the ground, you need to make a first great impression on your customers. You need to communicate the idea that their needs will be satisfied much better and faster if they do business with you instead of your competitors.

Some home based business ideas also play on words or slangs popularized by the current culture. When the culture changes as it often do with age, your business may suffer a setback as well. If you name your business after movie titles or phrases or even slang words this will not only date your business but render it out of touch when those titles, phrases or slangs become obsolete and are no longer in use.

Another mistake is to choose a name which is very similar to your competitors. Using words like “Professional” or “Quality” may sound accurate but they tend to be forgotten when a dozen or more of your competitors are already using the same name.

More often than not, the best catchy business name ideas have to do with the sort of reputation you want your business to grow on when it starts serving your customers. When you find this quality, then think along the same line for a business name that will embody this ideal. If you want to convey “quality”, then think of words that will express the same meaning. You can also play on words but make sure they are simple yet make a memorable impact on your customers. What you want to avoid is choosing a name that will not stand the test of time.

The Top 7 Office Games

www.PsPrint.com

There aren’t that many offices out there that will let their employees have a bit of a mess about with some office games after work hours. If you are lucky enough that your employer loves messing about from time to time then why not consider playing some of these office games?

The Office Hurdles

This one is extremely dangerous and is one that involves removing computers and pretty much all equipment from every desk in the office. It can only be done on longer desks and not really smaller, individual desks and pretty much just involves jumping over each desk as fast as possible. You only need to look at the above video to see just how dangerous (and funny) it can be.

Chair Racing

This one is a pure classic and one you simply cannot beat when it comes to office games. Although accidents can happen you will find it a lot harder to break any bones playing this game than trying out the office hurdles. It is safe to say that there is always someone that manages to fall of the chair so make sure you video it!

Jousting

Again it is fair to say that this one isn’t the safest of games to play but is certainly a lot of fun if you ever get the chance to play. All you need for this is a couple of chairs with wheels, two long wooden sticks and perhaps a shield (otherwise it is really going to hurt). All you have to do now is charge at full speed (a push from someone else helps) and you are set!

Office Tennis

This is a great game if you are in cubicles or there is a small back between you and the opposite person and is one of the safest office games you can play. You might even be able to get away with it during working hours if you are really lucky. Simply screw up a b it of paper and hit it to one another with your hands, you can’t get any easier and safer!

Shooting Hoops

This one is of course another very basic office game and it involves an office bin and paper, that’s it! All you need to do is screw up balls of paper and then aim to get them into the bin. Never going to cause any harm and is easier to pretend you are throwing something away so you are never going to be found out by the boss!

Nerf Office Fight

Some people call this the greatest office game of all time and if you have seen some of the  fantastic videos that have appeared online, you can see why! Not only can you buy the basic Nerf gun pistols but there are things such as sniper rifles and even machine guns out there. All of these are of course made of foam so there is never any danger of anyone in the office being hurt but there is always a massive mess to clear up at the end!

The Movie Blu- Tak Game

This game is fantastic simply because it can be played without too much hassle and you don’t have to stop working in order for the game to continue. Simply take a bit of blu tak and shape it into some form of prop from a film, making sure to not make it too obvious. You then have to tell the people participating what year the film is from and away you go! The person that guesses the film is the person that gets to shape the next prop.

The boss will never find out that you are playing the game because you can have quickly destroy the evidence by just screwing the tak into a normal ball!

How Strong Is Your Business?

www.PsPrint.com

As a business owner, times change changing. Keeping up with changing times can be challenging for all businesses. Whether your business is old or new, it is absolutely necessary to keep up and stay strong. Some businesses make it and some businesses don’t.

What’s the difference between a business that succeeds and a business that fails?

Here are some questions to ask yourself about how strong your business is:

How much of your heart is in your business?
People sometimes confuse passion with love. For example, if you run a office supplies company, do you have to LOVE office supplies? Do office supplies have to be your “dream” career? Not necessarily. Consider looking at it this way, do you LOVE running your own business? Do you enjoy fulfilling your customer’s needs? Does your future as a successful business owner seem like a dream? You don’t have to be in love with your products or services, you can be passionate about the process. As a business owner, you need to be fueled by your business and believe in it so your customers will, too.

How strong is your brand?
Have you spent money and effort on advertising? For example, if you are a florist, do your customers see the difference between you and other florists? When they order flowers from you, are they just ordering flowers or are they ordering a “Flowers from Fiona” package? By modeling successful companies, such as, Coca-Cola, you can observe that developing a strong brand is essential to your business. Make sure your company stands out and your customers recognize the difference.

How many loyal customers do you have?
Do you have loyal customers or a ‘revolving door’ of customers? Do you have long term customers or is the majority of your business new customers? Both long term customers and new customers are essential for your business. One of the greatest strategies you can ever implement is creating new customers into long term customers. Analyze how your business retains customers and make sure your operating at your best.

How strong are your finances?
If something happened to you, could your business survive 6 months to a year? Do you have reoccurring income? If you answered no, it may be time to start thinking of creative solutions for emergencies. You can implement solutions by creating an emergency fund, having business partner, or maybe a great staff. Expect the unexpected in your business and try to plan for the good and the bad times.

What’s your outlook on the future?
How do you feel about your business’s future? Do you project growing success for your business? How do your customers view your future? When operating a small business, it is essential to have persistence. Many business owners fail because they gave up because it was too hard. Owning a small business doesn’t have to be that way. You can have a positive attitude and persistence through good and bad times.

Why will people buy from you?

www.PsPrint.com

There are few businesses that do not have direct competition so what is it about your new business that is going to make people desert their present provider and come knocking at your door?

Well, the first thing to do is find out what your customer wants.  Sounds simple and logical but can actually be quite hard to do (and as a result many people don’t bother…).  In most cases you cannot actually go and talk to your prospective customers individually so you have to find out via indirect research and then extrapolate results.  The ways to do this are an article in themselves but do make an effort because it will pay off with the next stage.

Once you know what people want look at the competition and see how they are delivering it to the customers.  Your aim here is to find out where the gaps are and what the weaknesses are from your competitors.  You then need to identify how you can overcome these weaknesses and highlight these when you advertise your business.  Here are some typical areas you might investigate to see if you can find that competitive advantage.

Choice
Early in a product’s life you can get away with providing just a basic choice; remember Henry Ford’s “any color so long as it’s black” quote?  For early autos that wasn’t an issue but once autos started to become more common then people wanted more choice.  Is your marketplace at a point where adding an extra level of choice could promote you to market leader?

Delivery
Delivery is not just about speed.  Yes, most people want things immediately when they buy but there are other things that they desire too.  Reliability to deliver at a specific time of day is very important for workers; choices of delivery method (and therefore cost) can also be important.

Performance
What performance improvement can you add to ensure that people sit up and take note?  If you can’t beat people with one of the main performance measures then find a lesser one and build that into your marketing to be seen as something more important.

Quality
The biggest profits are made by companies that concentrate on quality rather than price.  Quality is a subjective matter and in many instances it can be up to you to demonstrate what quality is for your product.  A few years ago a beer company defined quality by the number of times it filtered the water in their beer.  As it happened, all beer makers do similar but none had promoted their product in that way.  As a result the beer company who first used the idea then became the ‘owners’ of it and no-one else could use it without seeming like they were copying the original.

Doing your research and then adapting your offering to the wants and needs of your market will give you a big advantage when starting out in business.  Yes, some of the research and work to find the niche can be hard – but that’s why most people don’t do it!
